Witcher 3 Remastered price is simple if you already own the game on Steam, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S: CD PROJEKT RED says the September 29 upgrade is free. It is less simple everywhere else. “Free” here means the Remastered upgrade on a copy you already have on PC, PS5, or Xbox. It does not mean Switch 2 is $0, Battle.net is $0, the 2027 expansion is bundled, or a new player walks out with the base game for nothing.
Switch 2 and Battle.net
The native Switch 2 version launches September 29. CDPR did not list an MSRP, a “free for Switch OLED owners” line, or an upgrade from Switch 1.
Battle.net is a new storefront through the Blizzard partnership. The press text does not list a price and does not say a Steam license converts there.
Those numbers will show up on the stores, not in a rewritten press release. Until they do, there is nothing honest to quote.
Songs of the Past is extra money
CDPR describes the 2027 expansion as paid. Steam requires Complete Edition. It is a second purchase, on a later calendar, collected with the other dates on witcher 3 remastered 2026.
The 2022 $0 Complete Edition path
In 2022, CD PROJEKT RED Support told some PlayStation GOTY owners they could add Complete Edition for $0. That was the next-gen Complete Edition. It is not a Remastered SKU price. The two free patches, and why people still search them as one phrase, are on witcher 3 free upgrade.
If you already own Complete Edition on Steam, waiting until September 29 is the path Steam already called free. If you own it on PS5 or Xbox, you are in the qualifying group; a second PC copy is only worth it if you want a second platform. Switch 2 and Battle.net are wait-and-see. Songs of the Past is 2027 money, not September money.
